The Cantata Christmas Carols was composed in 1992, a seven-movement cycle based on traditional Russian, Ukrainian and Belarussian Christmas carol motifs. The third movement, "Sviata Nich" [Holy Night] is based on a folk variant of Franz Gruber's "Stille Nacht" Heilige Nacht!" widely sung in Ukraine, and will serve to add a truly multi-national flavor to any Christmas program.  Subtle bells and bar chimes add to the charm of this arrangement.
