Why are some recordings not rated?
The star-rating system is an easy way for us to share our observations in our field of expertise, which is Russian and Slavic choral music.
There are many areas of music, however, in which we are not experts, such as Byzantine Chant or Georgian singing.
For this reason we do not rate CDs with those types of music. We also do not rate CDs recently recorded in North America
by currently practicing Orthodox church musicians, many of whom are our friends and colleagues.--Vladimir Morosan, Review Editor
