REVIEW
To call the “Boyan” Men’s Choir an outstanding male chorus would be an understatement! They sing with amazing flexibility and subtlety, as well as power when the music demands it. All this is done with good measure, refined taste, and an exquisite sense of blend and ensemble—28 singers reacting to their conductor as one! The music they sing in this composite Divine Liturgy has been adapted in most cases from the original Church Slavonic to the Ukrainian vernacular and arranged for men’s voices, but this does not in any way diminish the listener’s enjoyment of the wonderful choral singing on this CD. Highly recommended to all lovers of fine choral singing and especially, men’s chorus! The booklet of this Canadian import, in English and Ukrainian, gives an explanation of the Liturgy--V. M.
