REVIEW
This is an attractive collection of Nativity hymns and carols--approximately evenly divided between liturgical and non-liturgical settings. Some settings are quite familiar ("O Tannenbaum" in Ukrainian!), while others are very fresh and unusual, especially those that draw upon the vast heritage of carols in the Western regions surrounding the venerable Pochaev Monastery. The spirited monastic choir shows a fine sense of ensemble and vocal quality, not always a given in non-professional choirs. This will make an enjoyable addition to the collection of all lovers of monastic as well as men's choir singing. The sparse booklet only has titles only in Cyrillic.--V.M.
